Gay and transgender rights advocates said today that Montgomery County’s Board of Elections miscalculated the number of signatures required to challenge a law that prohibits discrimination based on a person’s gender identity.
The argument, played out before Circuit Court Judge Robert A. Greenberg, is a new wrinkle in the legal effort to block a referendum on an anti-discrimination measure passed by the County Council last fall.
