Bangalore: To condemn the recent arrest of five transsexuals, human rights activists are planning to hold a massive rally. Thirty-one activists were also arrested when they questioned the transsexuals’ arrest in Girinagar.
A Revathi, an activist with Sangama — an NGO working for transgender rights — said the police have behaved brutally. According to her, five transsexuals near a traffic signal on Monday were arrested on charges of extortion and assaulted in the police station.
