LOGO’s most successful show to date, RuPaul’s Drag Race, was just promised a second season-to start in early 2010-to the joy of suburban mothers, urban queers, suburban gay teenagers and fag hags everywhere.
Hosted by the “world famous drag queen” RuPaul, the show was a flurry of DIY fashion, over-the-top makeup and nine fierce lady entertainers. In the spirit of democracy, pluralism, and 21st century American consumption, the whole country tuned into the bickering, the bitching and the hard life of especially beautiful “ladies-who-just-happen-to-be-gentlemen.”
