A transsexual who was sacked by the Barcelona province branch of a German multinational has received an out of court settlement for a claim she presented with the support of the union, UGT.

Sarah Schulze, whose name at birth was Matthias, told EFE the Tüv Rheineland Group sacked her from a management position in company offices in El Prat de Llobregat at the end of October, some months after she had informed her bosses she was undergoing treatment prior to a sex change operation.
