Kalamazoo – A forum to educate the public about prevention of suicide among lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender youth will be held Saturday. The forum, hosted by the local nonprofit Project Light, is set for noon to 3 p.m. at the Wesley Foundation, on the campus of Western Michigan University.
The keynote speakers are Colette Beighley, of the Triangle Foundation, a statewide organization that serves the LGBT community; Joshua Jacobs, of Kalamazoo’s Counseling Innovations; and the Rev. Dr. Julie Nemecek, a transgender educator and activist.
