Los Angeles (Hollywood Reporter) – As you might imagine, “Sex Change Hospital” is not for the squeamish.
The WEtv entry, which premiered Tuesday, details the sexual reassignment surgeries (to use the latest PC term) of several patients in all of the multifaceted procedure’s bloody glory. And bloody it is.
The messiness isn’t really the point, of course. The series of six documentary hours — originally released some 18 months ago in the U.K. — follows the real-life patients as they beat a path from across the country and around the world to the mining town of Trinity, Colorado (population: 10,000), the unlikely sex change capital of our planet because of the work of Dr. Marci Bowers…
