Appleton – A transgendered person who sued a downtown nightclub this past week for discrimination said she is pushing the lawsuit to set an example.

“You don’t have to get along with people, but you don’t have to discriminate,” Sierra Broussard told The Post-Crescent on Friday.

On Tuesday, an attorney for Broussard, 28, of Appleton, formerly known as Slade Michael Broussard, filed a civil suit in Outagamie County Circuit Court claiming that Park Central, a complex at 318 W. College Ave. that has several taverns, discriminated against her on the basis of race and transgender status.
