Cedar Rapids – Dominique Cass turned to show off her hair – 14 pieces of fake black locks, all pinned to her head.
She sat among pool cues and boxes of Bud Light and waited. It was 8:45 p.m., and she’d been there since 5 p.m. Soon she would put on her earrings, choker, and sparkly red and black dress, and walk onto the stage.
Cass, along with 27 other contestants, performed three nights this past weekend in gown, talent, and interview portions of Miss Gay Iowa USofA at two bars in Cedar Rapids.
