A transgender female, wanting to legally change her name from Donald to Daunn, is going to the Illinois Supreme Court in her effort to get a waiver of court fees based on her low income.
Daunn Turner, 52, of Lockport is seeking the high court’s action in her conflict with Will County’s chief judge, Stephen White, and the circuit clerk, Pamela McGuire.
Turner’s court filing says White and McGuire violated Turner’s rights by improperly handling her request to waive fees.
She wants the high court to order the two officials to respond to the request according to the law.
