When Tristan Skye, a transgender male, entered the Q100 Bert Show’s “Men’s Madness” competition, he had no idea he would be one of the 64 men picked out of hundreds of choices to fill the first bracket in the radio show’s take on college basketball’s March Madness pool.
“My reasoning [for entering] was based on me being transgender and to be accepted for who I am,” said Skye, 29, who entered the contest as Tristan L.
He asked his actual last name not be used in this story because some people only know him as a male. Skye is the name he took when he once performed as a drag king in Atlanta.
