A local lobby of GLBT groups has recruited a new international conference to Tucson ? Transgender 2008: ?Toward a Greater Diversity.?
The annual conference, hosted by the International Foundation for Gender Education, includes workshops for people in or considering gender transition, advocacy presentations and political activism topics. The conference, scheduled for April 1-5, 2008, also includes a town hall meeting, a charity golf tournament, social events and tours of local attractions.
The conference, which draws 400 to 500 participants, will be held at the DoubleTree Hotel Reid Park, 445 S. Alvernon Way.
