Scholars will gather at the University of Utah this week to discuss how violence and cultural oppression are used to regulate sexuality, particularly people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender.
The Barbara L. and Norman C. Tanner Center for Nonviolent Human Rights Advocacy is presenting a conference, Wednesday through Friday, titled “Controlling Sexuality Through Violence, Shame and Cultural Oppression: Implications for Human Rights.”
