Yahoo launches Pride site

Yahoo last week launched its second annual LGBT Pride micro-site, offering resources for global Pride celebrations. The site also allows visitors to upload Pride images via Flickr, with the search engine donating $1 for every image to the Point Foundation (up to $25,000).

Brady Wood, 31, director of product marketing and founder of Yahoo’s LGBT employee group, told the Bay Area Reporter that the company expects to leave the site up through late July.

The micro-site is accessible at http://events.yahoo.com/pride or by going to Yahoo and searching for “gay pride.” Asked why a link isn’t on the main page, Wood said that there probably would be one soon.
