Not even a broken leg could keep Danni Gruden away from the 25 annual Pride London parade, which lit up downtown yesterday.
Gruden, who fell down and injured himself two weeks ago, stood proudly on crutches at Colborne and Dundas streets cheering on the friends who were able to take part in the parade.
“I march every year and it’s awful to not be able to now. It’s something I never miss.”
Gruden said this year’s parade was especially “monumental” for him because of the raising of the gay pride flag last week at city hall, a first for London.
“It says a lot. London is finally including people that they have been alienating for so long,” he said.
