Shaving is probably the weirdest thing. There I am in my bra, with my makeup ready, my outfit for the day on the bed, and my face looking back at me in the mirror with a half-smile. It’s a feeling of odd-one-out; grabbing a razor and tackling as many hairs as possible before reaching for the foundation. Male residue in an otherwise female world.

I’d like to think you couldn’t tell from looking at me, but I am transsexual. I don’t fully agree with the term, since I don’t feel “trans” anything: the idea that I “wanted to be a girl” is nonsense…
