A respected police officer, Anthony Barreto-Neto, was run off the police force in Hardwick, Vt., by constant harassment from fellow officers after they learned he had been born a woman.
Jamie Rondeai of Lowell, Mass., was repeatedly beaten and called a “faggot” just because she identified more with being a woman than she did a man.
Stories like these occur in New Hampshire too, and that is why state Rep. Ed Butler has filed a bill to protect transsexuals from discrimination.
