A transgender woman’s discrimination case relating to advertisements circulated during the last Tasmanian election has been set down for conciliation.
The anti-Greens newspaper advertisements were placed by Scottsdale man Roger Unwin and another member of the religious group the Exclusive Brethren.
Transgender woman Martine Delaney believes the ads incited hatred against gays, lesbians and transgender people by suggesting same-sex relationships were socially destructive.
Last month her complaint against Mr Unwin was referred to the Anti-Discrimination Tribunal and she has now heard it will proceed to conciliation.
“I wrote to the Commissioner and advised that I was willing to go to conciliation,” Ms Delaney said.
