Detroit – A female friend of a Ypsilanti man accused of bludgeoning a transvestite with a NASCAR-themed flashlight testified today that he confessed to murder one day after the crime.

Dee Boner, 38, of Mooresville, Ind., said in Third Circuit Court that Andre Marcel Adams came to her home April 16, 2006, “nervous, agitated and wanting my attention to talk to him.” The mother of four said the pair, friends for just a few months, met privately in her bedroom.

She said a tearful Adams “broke down” and told her “he committed murder and a little girl witnessed it and it really bothered him.”

The testimony came on the second day of Adams’ first-degree murder trial for the April 15, 2006, death of Robert Lee Armstrong, 46. His children, Ashley, then 10, and Kyle, then 8, discovered his body in the back bedroom of his trailer.
