Telegraph Staff Seated on a chair in the corner of the room, Erika played with her silver bracelet as she described for the women around her what it used to feel like to look at her body in the mirror.
It was like hallucinating, she said, because she felt like a woman, but that wasn’t the image staring back at her.
That’s when her suicidal thoughts were at their worst, she told the six women sitting around her. She was dressing as a woman full time but not passing as one to the rest of the world.
