The 27th floor of Pearce Ford Tower was electrically charged with pride, confidence and sexy drag. The chatter of students soaked the walls with sound. Some sought friends in the crowds. Others got comfortable and waited.

PFT held its first Drag Contest on Oct. 17. About seven people participated in the free event. The participants were all Western students.

Both Paris junior Jessie William and Whitesville sophomore Jessica “Hoss Cat” Mills organized the event, and Mills hosted.

“We organized this event for tolerance awareness,” Mills said. ?People should realize how creative and different every human can be.?

About 85 people attended the show. When students walked in they were handed a bag of Skittles and a raffle ticket for a drawing that would take place later in the show. The winner would get a huge bag of candy.
