When a leggy blonde calling herself Jessica Jameson showed up at the 40th reunion of El Paso High’s class of ?66 a few weeks back, nobody was quite able to place her at first. She looked familiar, to be sure, and, actually, she kind of looked a lot like Jimmy Jensen.
Oh.
?My name is Jessica Jameson now,? she said with a friendly smile, and everyone was like, ?Okay, Jessica, sure, that’s cool.?
?She was such a hunk,? said a grandma named Sue. ?I used to have a crush on her.?
High school football player, counselor-at-law, ex-Marine captain and transsexual, Ms. Jameson walked away with the reunion’s most-changed classmate award hands down.
?If I could go back to high school, I’d still want to do it as a guy,? she said, ?but I’d want to be a better football player. I still have a very strong male side and I haven’t really changed that much in my propensities, but since I can’t do sports any more, making the transformation gave me a shot at doing new things.
