If you are ever lucky enough to meet Peffer, you will understand why his writing is so rich and exhilarating. After having Peffer for a creative writing class my senior year at Phillips Academy Andover, where he teaches, I can say with confidence that this man’s class never contained a boring or mundane moment. Instead, it was filled with enthusiasm and laughter, tidbits of stories, unique assignments – it becomes clear upon reading his novel Provincetown Follies, Bangkok Blues that he channels unparalleled creativity in his writing as well.
