Should Congress include transgender people in ENDA? Vote now!

Transgender people are being removed from a bill to protect other queer Americans from job discrimination, known as ENDA (Employment Non-Discrimination Act). Out gay Rep. Barney Frank, D-Mass., and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi side with colleagues who believe ENDA stands a better chance of passing if limited to lesbians, gays and bisexuals.

“There is more resistance to protection for people who are transgender than for people who are gay, lesbian and bisexual,” Frank said in a statement. “This is not a good fact, but ignoring bad facts is a bad way to get legislation passed.”

Frank says he’ll fight for a transgender version of ENDA after the LGB version passes. Not everyone is satisfied with his promise.
