Spanish transexual tries to get into the army – again – By h.b.

Aitor G.R. the 28 year old transsexual from a village in Jaén who was declared in 2007 not fit for military services because of a lack of a penis, has once again presented himself today for the army entry trials which take place in Córdoba today.

He was previously rejected because of an 1989 regulation which excluded men who have no penis or testicles, in a case which received widespread media coverage at the time. The lack of genitals is included on a long list of illnesses which prohibit military service in Spain.
