Strutting their stuff

Burlington was abuzz with fashion and fun last weekend when the Burlington Marriott welcomed the Tiffany Club of New England as it hosted its 27th annual First Event.

The Tiffany Club is a non-sexual support organization for transgender individuals. Currently the Club has 125 members in the Boston area.

?Being transgendered is not something that you just decide to do one day. Most people know as early as three or four years old that there is something different about them. At four years old even though I was a boy on the outside, I felt like a girl on the inside,? said Cherl Easton, member of the club for 15 years and vice president for the past five.

Sarah Thompson, president of the Tiffany Club, who works in Internet marketing and has four children and two grandchildren stated, ?It is very gratifying to know that we have been helping people for 27 years. Every year we adapt the theme and the workshops to keep up with the needs of our community. This year our Building Bridges theme is aimed at helping the transgender community build strong bonds internally and externally.?
